When was the last time you looked at your policies and procedures?

Through CCF’s partnership with TCCI, CCF Members and Associate Members have access to TCCI’s Workplace Relations specialists.

Ineffective human resource management systems can result in high staff turnover, industrial disputes, breaches of legislation, unfair dismissal claims, and more – all with significant effects on your business productivity and viability.   Up-to-date policies and procedures (be it HR or WHS) ensure that any behaviour or conduct in contravention of those documents can be dealt with efficiently, effectively and within a timely manner. The first port of call for many disputes is whether there is a policy or procedure in place that addressed this issue.   Some common policies and procedures business’ have include:

  • Anti-discrimination and equal opportunity
  • Attendance and absenteeism
  • Bullying
  • Code of conduct
  • Conflict of Interest
  • Emergency evacuation
  • Employer property
  • Fatigue management
  • Grievance
  • Incident report and investigation
  • Internet, email and computer use
  • Leave
  • Manual handling
  • Mobile phone and personal calls at work
  • Performance and misconduct
  • Personal protective equipment and clothing
  • Social media
  • Timesheet
  • Vehicle
  • WHS

These are examples only and by no means a comprehensive list. If there are issues in your business that need to be addressed, TCCI can assist you with drafting a policy or procedure that is tailored to your business.

If you would like a review of any of your current policies and procedures or drafting of new ones, please do not hesitate to contact TCCI on 1300 559 122 or workplacerelations@tcci.com.au
