CCF Applauds Decisions of Both Major Parties to Support Launceston UTAS Relocation

Tanya Denison, Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Contractors Federation Tasmanian Branch, has welcomed announcements from both major political parties to support the relocation of Launceston’s UTAS university campus.

“The relocation of the campus will breathe new life into Launceston’s CBD. New, modern educational facilities will undoubtedly prove a drawcard for students from across Tasmania around the world, which will in turn boost Northern Tasmania’s economy and attract new infrastructure investment”, said Ms Denison.

“Both major political parties have committed to contributing significant funds to relocate the university campus. This is good news for Launceston and Northern Tasmania, and good news for the civil construction industry”, Ms Denison concluded.

In May 2016, CCF joined forces with the Master Builders and Property Council to voice the industry’s support for the project.
