National Road Safety Week 2020 – How to show your support

With so many of our members conducting work on or near roads, National Road Safety Week 2020 (15-22 November)  is especially important to CCF Tasmania.

There are a variety of low-cost initiatives that you may consider to demonstrate your business or organisation’s support of National Road Safety Week including:

  1. Leading a Remember the 1200@1200 event – encourage your organisation or community to observe a minute’s silence at 12:00pm on Sunday 15 November 2020 to acknowledge and support those victims, families and friends who have lost loved ones in road crashes;
  2. With ‘Take the Pledge, Lead the Way’ as the theme for Monday, 16 November, ask your organisation to share the 2020 Pledge at https://roadsafetyweek.com.au/home/#home/pledge
  3. With the colour yellow, and the yellow ribbon, as Australia’s road safety symbols, display yellow ribbons or yellow ribbon stickers on your fleet vehicles as both:
  4. a sign that your organisation promotes safe driving in its community; and
  5. as a symbol of your commitment to protecting all road users. These are available from https://roadsafetyweek.com.au/supporters.
  6. Lighting buildings or corporate icons in yellow, and their subsequent promotion as National Road Safety Week symbols;
  7. Using the phrases “Supporter of 2020 Yellow Ribbon National Road Safety Week – 15 to 22 November 2020” and “Drive So Others Survive!” in signature blocks, media promotion, media releases, web sites, posters and promotional activities in the lead up to and during the Week.
