Safety at road worksites is a strategically important issue for Austroads member agencies and industry.


The Austroads Board has endorsed a four-part project to facilitate the introduction of a harmonised approach to temporary traffic control at road worksites across Australia.

Dr Dan Sullivan will be briefing industry on the project to date and provide key details of changes that will be occurring at road work sites around Australia and how this impacts organisations in Tasmania.

About the speaker – Dr Dan Sullivan

Dan has a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, an MBA and a Doctorate specialising in Traffic Engineering

Dr Dan Sullivan is Founding Director of Solutions in Transport, Project Manager for Austroads Safety at Road Worksites project and a Board Director for the Australian Institute of Traffic Management and Planning. He is regarded as a national expert in temporary traffic management.

The Austroads Safety at Road Worksites project is focussed on delivering improved safety at worksites and enhancing the ability of road agencies and industry in meeting their WHS obligations relating to temporary traffic management. Dan is an advocate and champion for change and improved safety in temporary traffic management and has been implementing ways to improve the industry for nearly 20 years. This project is targeted at driving a culture change to raise the professionalism and safety outcomes at road worksites to achieve better and more consistent outcomes.
